Final Preparations in Nemeton TV as Heineken Cup Final Approaches

Having successfully produced the Allianz Hurling and Football Leagues for TG4 to huge audiences, Nemeton TV’s production team now turns its attention back to rugby for the climax of Europe’s club rugby showpiece competition, the Heineken Cup.

And with two Irish provinces taking centre stage in the final for the first time, this year’s pairing between Leinster and Ulster on Saturday at Twickenham adds an extra dimension to the final, making it a major event in TG4’s rugby coverage.

Under a new deal agreed last summer, the Heineken Cup was the most recent addition to TG4’s rugby schedule, which already included the RaboDirect Pro12 and deferred coverage of last autumn’s Rugby World Cup.

Speaking about the weekend ahead, Nemeton’s Head of Sport, Maidhcí Ó Súilleabháin said, “We are delighted to be showing extended highlights of this historic all Ireland clash to TG4 sports fans. It is a unique European moment – a special Irish occasion with two Irish teams, broadcasting on Irish television.”

Nemeton TV made broadcasting history last year by opening Ireland’s first HD TV Studio. The studio, which is based at Nemeton’s headquarters in An Rinn, opened it’s door for broadcast last September with Rugby World Cup coverage for TG4.

Nemeton is Ireland’s largest, full-service independent television producer and facilities provider.
