Waterford Institute of Technology and Nemeton TV  announce – the class of 2014 film premiere on the 22^nd May in SCG Cinema, Dungarvan, starting with a reception at 11.30am.

The  students on the course are working very hard putting the finishing touches to their films. The twelve post grads on the course who come from all over Ireland have made dramas, documentaries and music films.

The films feature many sites and locations around Dungarvan and Waterford, Ring and Helvic where they have been practicing their camera  skills over the past eight months.

This years students shot their films in Derry, Galway, Cork,Conamara, Waterford and An Rinn. Topics include Halloween in Derry by Des Baker, Nicholas Tobín Féile, An Rinn,by local film maker Eileen Hyland Two dramas and a specially composed suite of music inspired by the Comeraghs by Eadaoin Walsh from Waterford.

One of the films, shown in last year’s premiere went on to win first prize in the National Student Media Awards for best documentary in the Irish language and an extended one hour film has been commissioned by TG4 of the same programme. This year’s course hope to surpass the success of last year’s graduates with their films. A new feature of the course is compulsory work experience during the year. This has resulted in jobs for some students, three students will not make the premiere because they are working on tv productions.

Ar Fud na Tíre has come to an end we really enjoyed making the series and travelling all over the country meeting so many different people and communities. We would like to thank everyone who took part and to everyone who tuned into TG4. Here’s a look back at some of our favourite moments from the series.
