Junior Cup Showpiece final LIVE on BBC ALBA

After Hibernian Ladies’ triumph in the SWPL Cup last weekend, there’s more Cup final action on BBC ALBA this weekend. In the Scottish Junior Cup final, Auchinleck Talbot take on Hurlford United in an all-Ayrshire clash at Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park on Sunday (27th May) afternoon. The match will be exclusively live on BBC ALBA from 16:00.

At half-time, we’ll hear from Auchinleck Talbot stiker Sean McIlroy. After winning the Junior Cup in 2009 with The Bot, Sean left the club and Scotland for a trial at Central Coast Mariners in Australia, where a one year working visa turned into six and half years down under. He discusses how, after a change in federal law last year, he was forced to come home and rebuild his life with the support of his family, friends and the club.

We’ve also been speaking to Hurlford United’s Allan Jenkins. The midfielder achieved four promotions in his time at Stranraer and Gretna before then spending 6 years in Northern Ireland. He became a club legend after captaining Ballymena to their first senior trophy, but now Allan is aiming to win the Scottish Junior Cup with Hurlford before he hangs up his boots.
