New season for SWPL

Our SPFL Premiership coverage for BBC ALBA this weekend is the fixture Heart of Midlothian v St Johnstone, broadcast tomorrow, Saturday 3rd February, on the channel at 18:00.

Our extended feature at half-time this week covers the new Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) season, which begins next weekend. Holders Glasgow City will face even tougher competition to retain the title for a 12th consecutive time.

For the first time in the league’s history, there will be prize money for all 16 clubs across SWPL 1 and SWPL 2.

A mouth-watering opening set of fixtures scheduled for Sunday the 11th of February, will see the first Old Firm derby as Celtic host Rangers.
