Women’s Football on BBC ALBA

It’s an exciting week of women’s football for us in the Nemeton office in Scotland. We’ll be producing coverage of two live matches.

First, it’s the conclusion of Scotland’s FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualification campaign. Albania v Scotland will be live and exclusive on BBC ALBA. Qualification for the tournament hangs in the balance. A win for Scotland and points dropped by Switzerland would see the Scots through automatically. However, if the Swiss are successful away to Poland, and Scotland win, there’s still the carrot of a potential play-off spot. In our half–time piece we hear from Christie Murray on her summer move to Liverpool Women and her plans for the future after completing her UEFA B Licence.

At the close of the week we’ll be turning our attentions to domestic women’s football with live coverage of Forfar Farmington v Hibernian in the SWPL, the first ever live television coverage of a domestic women’s league match in Scotland.
