PRO14 & Scottish Premiership Action on BBC ALBA

It’s going to be a busy afternoon of Sport this coming Saturday (5th May) on BBC ALBA with live rugby and deferred premiership action.

We start off the afternoon with the PRO14 and a massive game between Edinburgh and Munster in Limerick. It’s the first time that Edinburgh have reached the final stages of the competition, having done so with an impressive win over rivals Glasgow Warriors at BT Murrayfield last weekend which also saw them lift the 1872 Cup for this season. A place in the semi-finals against Leinster awaits, but it won’t be easy against a Munster side who fought back from 24 – 14 down to draw 24 – 24 with Ulster and who also have a point to prove after exiting the Champions Cup at the semi-final stage to Racing 92.

Having spoken to Head Coach Richard Cockerill at the beginning of the season, we caught up with him again as he looks ahead to the capital club’s historic PRO14 play-off.

We’ll also have full match coverage from an important fixture in the Scottish Premiership as second placed Aberdeen welcome fourth placed Hibernian to Pittodrie Stadium. Both sides enjoyed success last time out as Aberdeen saw off Hearts 2 – 0, and Hibernian took the spoils in our featured match at Easter Road which finished 5 – 3 after an enthralling 90 minutes. A win for either side could have a huge impact on who finishes in second spot, come the end of the season.

We have a feast of highlights at half-time as we take a look at all the action from the SFA Youth Cup final between Aberdeen and Hibernian at Hampden Park with the Hibees lifting (and breaking) the trophy after a 3 – 1 win. We’ll also look at the best bits from an afternoon full of football at the Falkirk Stadium as the SWPL Cup semi-finals took place there last weekend. Holders Hibernian Ladies defeated rivals Glasgow city 3 – 1 in the first semi-final, and Celtic Women progressed against Forfar Farmington 4-1 in the second match of the afternoon to set up a repeat of last year’s final. We will also be producing live coverage of that final on the 20th May on BBC ALBA.

We have a busy schedule coming up next week on BBC ALBA too:
