Life after football

December 15 2017 | Posted in: TVSport

This Saturday 16th December, we’re covering the Scottish Premiership match Dundee v Partick Thistle at 18:00 on BBC ALBA.

Our extended feature this week tells the story of former footballer Chris Mitchell, who tragically died after failing to cope with the transition into the workplace after his playing career ended. Chris’ sister has set up a foundation in his name and along with the PFA Scotland, they are offering courses for players to learn skills that will help them when they retire from the game.

We also hear from Partick Thistle midfielder Adam Barton, who reflects on several serious injuries he has suffered in his career and how it has helped him focus on what he will do with his life after football.
