Digisat Launch New Van at IBC

There was great excitement at DigiSat’s offices this week as a brand new state-of- the-art satellite van was launched by the company at the annual International Broadcaster Conference (IBC) in Amsterdam. Led by Tomás Mac Craith, DigiSat (part of An Rinn-based Nemeton TV), has grown significantly over the last number of years. This success and an ever increasing demand for HD satellite links for live television drove the need to expand their existing fleet to three units.

The new van launched at the show is already booked out with work for a number of broadcasters, including TG4, RTÉ, SKY, BBC & Channel 7 (Australia) and will be covering events such as both the Labour Party & Conservative Party Political Conferences in Britain while closer to home, the All Ireland Finals and the EUFA Cup Qualifiers will feature. The demands of keeping up to speed with new developments in technology can be challenging but with over 15 years experience in this area Digisat has proven that it’s not just the technology that’s important.

Digisat boss, Tomás Mac Craith says: “Our existing client relationships are essential to us and we work on those continually to ensure that we deliver what broadcasters want, when they want it. The challenge for us, as with most businesses is the timing of new investments. We probably knew over a year ago that we needed to expand our fleet. Since the order for the van was placed over 4 months ago we have bookings well into 2015 and I believe that there are many more yet to come.” Digisat’s continued plans for growth also include internet television broadcasting as well as a newly designed company logo and a brand new website later in the year.
