Super Saturday on BBC ALBA.
It’s another weekend of shinty and football action coming up on BBC ALBA and we’ll be producing Camanachd Cup and Scottish Premiership on a super Saturday of sport.
In the first of our programmes, Lovat and Kingussie go head to head in the second of this year’s Camanachd Cup semi-finals. Lovat made their way to the semis with a 3-0 win over Skye in the second round, and a 7 – 0 thumping of Bute in the third. In their second round tie, Kingussie drew 1 – 1 with Caberfeidh before winning the replay 3 – 2. They then saw off Fort William 3 – 0 to seal their place in the semi-final. At half-time, we look at how Strathspey Camanachd have come back from turbulent times in 2016 to the women’s team winning the league last season, and their plans to offer shinty to youngsters in the Grantown on Spey area in years to come. LIVE coverage of that one starts from 16:00 on Saturday.
After that, we’re straight into full match coverage of Livingston v Kilmarnock from the Scottish Premiership. Newly promoted Livingston started off their first campaign back in the top flight of Scottish football in 12 years last week with a 3 – 1 loss to Celtic last weekend. Kilmarnock – who had a successful season in finishing in the top six last season, won 2 – 0 against St Johnstone at Rugby Park.
At half time we hear from new Livingston gaffer Kenny Miller on his move into management and combining the role of a player and manager. As well as his own personal ambitions, Kenny also discusses his hopes for Livingston’s Premiership survival this season.
You can watch the full match coverage from 18:00 on Saturday afternoon on BBC ALBA, or catch up on the BBC iPlayer.
