Glasgow Celtic Society Cup Final coming up on BBC ALBA

We’ll be producing more live shinty action on BBC ALBA this Saturday (30th June) as the final of this year’s Glasgow Celtic Society Cup is held in Taynuilt.

In a repeat of last year’s final, Kyles Athletic take on Oban Camanachd, with the former looking to succeed in the oldest competition in Scottish shinty for a 6th consecutive time. The Tighnabruaich side saw off Glasgow Mid Argyll by 4 goals to 2 in their semi-final match in Yoker. Home advantage helped Oban Camanachd as they defeated Inveraray 2 – 0 at Mossfield to seal their place in the final for the second year running.

At half-time, we hear from Kyles Athletic captain Cammy Keith. Cammy discusses how he got into shinty as a youngster and what he’d like to achieve in the game. Despite being fairly young himself, he also talks of the importance of himself and his teammates now being role models for the next generation of players
